They are designed in such a way so that air is indeed able to flow through them, and pressure between the inside and outside is constantly equalised, but the special shape ensures that water or foreign bodies cannot penetrate inside. As a result, protection class IP 65 is able to be ensured in spite of the permanent exchange of air.
Now you can also make use of the properties of the newly developed Air technology for other enclosures or existing installations:
the ventilation element is now also available as an accessory. In order to achieve the desired exchange of air, two of these elements must be mounted vertically on opposing enclosure walls. This can be easily done, for example, in combination flanges with an M40 knock-out from the GTi series. A set includes two ventilation elements (external thread M40 x 1.5, thread length 11 mm) along with the corresponding seals and locking nuts and can be pre-ordered now via the wholesale trade. The first specimens are due to be delivered from April 2016 onwards.
