“What is crucial is a holistic approach that combines protection, efficiency and easy integration into existing structures,” explains Jörn Lindert, Head of Marketing at Spelsberg. “With GEOS and BelAir active, we offer products that precisely meet these requirements in practice”
Robust enclosure technology for demanding environments
Especially in the modernization of infrastructure projects, it is crucial to reliably protect existing installations while simultaneously extending the service life of sensitive components. The GEOS series from Spelsberg is designed for harsh operating conditions and stands out for its high durability, chemical resistance and installation‑friendly features. Manufactured from high-quality polycarbonate, the enclosures are corrosion-resistant, UV- and temperature-resistant and impact-resistant to IK09. They are therefore suitable for both industrial applications and demanding outdoor environments, where moisture, dirt, severe temperature fluctuations and weather exposure continually affect electrical installations.
At the center of the protection concept for the robust outdoor enclosure is the sealing system Drain Protect. The overlapping cover with an integrated drainage channel and a high-quality elastomer seal permanently protects the internal components from rain, snow and dirt. Thanks to the high protection ratings IP66 and IP67, even sensitive electrical and electronic components are reliably protected. At the same time, the flexible installation system, different locking mechanisms and fastening options inside and outside the sealing range facilitate quick installation. This flexibility plays a decisive role, especially in modernization and renovation projects where existing structures must be taken into account and adjustments often only become necessary during the ongoing process.
Quick installation and reliable protection with active ventilation
With BelAir active, Spelsberg expands its portfolio with a compact ventilation element specifically designed for industrial enclosures and small distribution boards. The filter fans of the BEL Air active M40 series reliably dissipate thermal loads and help to ensure the service life of sensitive components. The BelAir Online tool for temperature-rise calculation for low-voltage switchgear assemblies additionally supports installers in optimal planning. Designed for installation in standardized M40 enclosure openings, the active ventilation element with a high-quality G4 filter insert according to DIN EN 779 provides effective removal of waste heat while preventing the ingress of dust particles. Despite its compact dimensions of only 45 × 58 × 70 millimetres, the fan achieves a free-blowing volumetric flow of 31.6 m³/h. This makes the solution suitable for small, tightly packed empty enclosures where additional heat is generated but available space is limited. Available in 12 V DC and 24 V DC variants, the product can be flexibly integrated into different power-supply concepts in machine and plant engineering.
Through the round 40,5-Millimeter mounting opening, the active Ventilation element can be installed quickly and without the use of special tools. Removal and filter replacement are also tool-free, which reduces maintenance time and simplifies service processes. Wall thicknesses from 1.25 to 4.5 millimeters are supported, allowing the new product to be used in many existing enclosure concepts. With IP55, glow-wire test at 650 °C per EN 60695-2-11, ETIM classification EC000320 and compliance with the requirements of EN 61439, Spelsberg's new product is consistently designed for demanding practical operation.
With the combination of GEOS and BelAir active, Spelsberg creates a powerful overall package for future-proof modernization and renovation projects: robust enclosure technology, reliable protection against environmental influences, efficient heat dissipation and high installation convenience. This creates solutions that play to their strengths in new builds and especially in the renewal and adaptation of existing installations.
