In particular, the new soft membranes simplify the installation of the two- and three-row distributors AK 24 (24 modular units) and AK 36 (36 modular units). The cables can be routed into the distributor without tools through the soft self-sealing entry membranes. They also offer a larger sealing range than the previously used double membrane seals. With the additional option to use cable glands instead of the soft membrane, the new AK small distribution boards offer maximum flexibility for the installer. Thanks to the 180° rotatability of the enclosure, installation can be flexibly adapted.
Comfort and efficiency in focus
Installation friendliness was the top priority in the development of the small distribution boards AK 24 and AK 36. The screwless PE and N terminal with lever operation, known from Spelsberg's premium distributors AK Air 14 - 70, is now also installed in the compact AK 24 and AK 36. The slightly larger enclosure dimensions of the AK compact series were used by the developers for extended installation space inside the distributor. Lateral wiring space and more room under the DIN rails, which can also be removed without tools, simplify cable routing and internal wiring. 3- and 5-pole 6mm² WAGO 221 lever terminals can be inserted into special terminal pockets in the distributor base plates. This allows the supply line to be easily and efficiently divided onto multiple RCDs. This ensures maximum clarity and efficient working.
A lateral stop on the DIN rail and markings on the DIN rail for installing modular devices complete the concept and ensure that the cover can be precisely and easily mounted.
The small distribution boards were also optimized from the outside: The newly designed ergonomic hinged window facilitates opening and closing. Instead of a complex screw connection between enclosure and cover, it is now mounted with quick-release screws where a 90° turn creates a secure connection.
Robust, secure, sustainable
The new Distributor AK 24 and AK 36 have already undergone intensive testing during the development phase at Spelsberg's VDE-accredited testing laboratory. The IP65 protection rating guarantees dust tightness and protection against jet water. With the additionally high impact resistance of IK08, they are optimally suited, among other things, for workshops or garages. With a minimum temperature of -25°C for use, the distributors can also be easily installed in unheated rooms. The distributors made from high-quality plastics meet the requirements of standards EN 61439-3 as well as EN 60670-24. Spelsberg also sets a sign in terms of sustainability: Through optimized packaging concepts, protective films and plastic bags for accessories are omitted.
Clear design with added value
The slight design adjustments ensure a more modern look and more functionality at the same time. The smooth surface of the front side allows for a clean and customized labeling.
With the new AK 24 and AK 36, Spelsberg offers safe and space-saving solutions for electrical installations that optimally combine efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability. "With AK 24 and AK 36 we have developed small distribution boards that noticeably simplify our customers' daily work," emphasizes Volker Bierbaum, product manager at Spelsberg. "With our slogan 'Reduced to the Maximum', we capture exactly what it's about: maximum function with reduced space requirement."
