The materials used by Spelsberg have been subjected to a weathering test in accordance with DIN 53 387 (superseded by DIN EN ISO 4892-2) and a 1000-hour test by the State Testing Office in Dortmund. The materials used for the IQ products achieved optimal results as can be seen here. This material also passed the UV resistance test in accordance with UL 746 C unconditionally.

In principle, not only the level of protection but also the climatic conditions and the occurrence of chemical influences should be assessed when selecting the installation site. Details of the material properties and chemical resistance of the materials used can be taken from the table though it should be noted that they are only guide values.

The AK small distribution board can be used as both a GP (universal) enclosures and also a PD enclosures for predetermined equipment in accordance with standard EN 60670-24.

1) Verification of the maximum power output capability (Pde) for universal enclosures - GP enclosures Verification of the temperature rise for GP empty enclosures and GP basic enclosures was carried out using AK small distribution boards with substitute resistors which produce the maximum power dissipation per standard rail as listed in the table. In the process, the outer surface did not heat up by more than 30K. Here, the increase in temperature inside the enclosure is higher and may exceed the permissible operating temperature of the equipment used if necessary.

2) Verification of the temperature rise for enclosures for predetermined equipment - PD enclosures Verification of the temperature rise for PD empty enclosures and PD basic enclosures was carried out using AK small distribution boards with combinations of equipment which produce the maximum power dissipation per standard rail as listed in the table. In the process, the outer surface did not heat up by more than 40K. Here, the increase in temperature inside the enclosure is higher and may exceed the permissible operating temperature of the equipment used if necessary
